Mother Nature
Here comes the thunder here comes the rain chasing the afternoon cargo train We’ve outrun Mother Nature time and time again but we know she’s got endurance we know how this will end I’m biding time with my cadence and weary pirouette I dance even when I’m sleeping and sing when I’m out of breath They’re shutting off the oxygen it’s written in the will when the train is underwater I’ll be dancing still
This poem is featured on page 59 of my book, Hollow Trophies for Howling Idiots.
