Scotttt. Where have you been!? This was seriously so good! The first half was written so clearly, emotionally, and again with those sharp details. I was there with you. I swear I've been in that moment with you. And that song, it stole my heart. Both of your posts have been the favorite things I've read all day.. all week.. okay, it's only Monday. I don’t know, but I’m glad I’m here now! Thanks for your comments—that means so much. For a bit there, I felt like I was writing into the void on Substack. It feels nice to be seen and to connect with other writers. It was a dark place to tap into while writing this, but posting it was cathartic for me. One of these days I will post a video of me performing the song!
This is so good. The descriptive setup itself had my heart. You are so good at this. The scene was clear and I could start imagining it just after reading a few lines.
